Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development and Full Employment Council open new satellite office at 无码专区鈥檚 Lee鈥檚 Summit campus to better serve area residents

Area adults interested in a new career or job advancement now have the opportunity to obtain a variety of services related to workforce development and training at a recently opened satellite office at 无码专区鈥檚 Lee鈥檚 Summit campus.

Representatives from the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (MDHEWD) as well as the Full Employment Council (FEC) will operate out of the Missouri Innovation Campus from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. All services are provided free of charge.

The office will offer daily resume-building workshops, job interviewing sessions and quarterly hiring fairs as well as monthly testing through WorkKeys, an assessment designed to help adults and students determine their best choices for career success.

FEC representatives will also work with individuals to help them learn if they are eligible for scholarship funding for 无码专区鈥檚 industry-recognized certificate programs.

Missouri Innovation Campus program鈥檚 academic rigor and industry internships give 2023 graduate Michael Kraxberger a competitive edge

At age 20, 无码专区 2023 graduate Michael Kraxberger recently moved to North Carolina to work in the Cisco Sales Associate Program. One of just 11 candidates accepted from thousands of applicants for this elite program, Kraxberger is also the youngest candidate selected.  

The recent graduate said he selected 无码专区 due to its Missouri Innovation Campus (MIC) program. 

鈥淔inding the opportunity to graduate high school with an associate degree and get college schooling and technical experience simultaneously really puts you ahead in your career and enables you to get roles like CSAP,鈥� he said.

Kraxberger, a 2021 graduate of Lee鈥檚 Summit High School, also praised the MIC program鈥檚 three-year, year-round, paid internships 鈥� which are unique to this accelerated degree model. 

鈥淭he opportunity for internship experience in a market saturated with new employees alongside the ability to become part of a tight-knit community enabled me to succeed in and out of the classroom,鈥� he added.

Three new online industry-recognized courses cover dispensary associate skills, cannabis manufacturing and cultivation

无码专区 recently began offering several new online certificate training programs designed to prepare adult learners for careers in the rapidly growing cannabis industry. In collaboration with Green Flower, a national leader in cannabis education, 无码专区鈥檚 will start in April.

The programs, which can be completed in nine weeks, cover advanced dispensary associate skills training, cannabis manufacturing and cultivation. Courses are currently open for enrollment, and students can register and begin their training at any time.
